Wolcott

913: Venus Rising (Eternal, with yearly maintenance!) Anyone who knows Wolcott is familiar with this "lady" - debatably the town's most famous 'femme fatale!' In 1912, The Lakeshore News began a drive to collect money for a village fountain "for man and beast" begging subscribers in, near, or from Wolcott for any amount they could spare. The total cost was probably between $900 and $1,000. The statue is one of several like it in the U.S., and Venus receives a yearly coat of paint to keep her in top shape.
