Overview
The County Planning Board is an advisory board, composed of one member from each of the towns in the county.
Authorized by General Municipal Law 239-b and County Law, Section 220, the Wayne County Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 25(1966) in February 1966 authorizing "the establishing of a County Planning Board with initial and succeeding members of said Board to be appointed by the Board of Supervisors' Planning and Development Committee." Under current practice, appointments are made by the Board of Supervisors. The Board of Supervisors confirmed the appointment of a fifteen member Board under a system of three year staggered terms.
