Bicentennial "Minutes"

The BICENTENNIAL MINUTES campaign is a weekly presentation of historical facts and stories surrounding a particular person, place or event from Wayne County history. Each presentation is posted to Youtube as a "video" and features photos, video, commentary and/or artifacts condensed into a three- to four-minute presentation that highlights a unique aspect of our diverse history. The first Bicentennial Minutes compilation was released on April 7, 2022. There are 52 episodes produced under the leadership of Bruce Farrington, from the Town of Sodus Historical Society and is also a Bicentennial Committee Member.

The Bicentennial Minutes are also released in written form weekly to local newspapers including the Finger Lake Times, Times of Wayne County, and the Lakeshore News. In addition, an audio version is made available for broadcast on WACK radio  (1420AM) each Thursday. Links to these presentations will also be updated on this page weekly as we countdown to Wayne County’s bicentennial anniversary celebration on April 11, 2023. This will be followed by a year of celebrations and events throughout the county. We hope you enjoy a few minutes from the past 200 years of Wayne County history.
