Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for the Microburst Grant Program, businesses must be located and operated within Wayne County, have been in existence for two years or less, and employ 5 or fewer individuals. Applicants must contribute 10% cash equity towards the project cost, and either themselves or an employee must be classified as low to moderate income based on household size. If there are multiple owners, at least 51% must meet the LMI criteria. Funds cannot be utilized for construction, and if granted, are distributed as reimbursements.

Application Process:

Applications are accepted continuously until funds are exhausted. Grants range from $5,000 to $20,000. To apply, submit the application document along with essential business verification, personal tax returns, business plan, resumes, cash flow projections, personal financial statements, lease/purchase agreements, equipment invoices, contractor estimates, and proof of completed SCORE training.

Evaluation and Decision:

Upon receiving applications, we internally review documents and collaborate with applicants for any necessary adjustments. Our Loan Review Committee then assesses the application, providing recommendations that are presented to our Board for approval or denial.
